Dont you guys think such case does happens and its quite sad?

Guy A like Girl A...
vice versa
but both thought they wouldnt make it together, or that the other party would not like him/her.
And they just leave it.. without even trying..
Years down the road, then they realise they were carrying a torch for each other at the very same time.... such cases are quite hard to come by... Normally one party starts fancying the other.. then it became mutual.. seldom its concurrently..

Moral of the story:

Fight for your own happiness, Life is like a box of chocolates, you would never know unless u tried it. if it doesnt taste nice after u try it.. u can still spit it out... but at the very least.. u have e experience and can sets apart what would be a nice chocolate what would not be~
