i had a wonderful, meaningful tuesday...
Did my first community service as a SMUsian.. we had to clock 80 hrs for comm service within our 4 yrs of studies before we could actually graduate. So.. since we have to do.. might as well choose some interesting one. So i signed up for this "D'joy childcare treasure hunt" thingy with SMU motor INC club. Woke up like 6 am..been ages since i woke up so early.. met those organisers at 830am. Briefing, briefing.. den we head down to the childcare centre to meet those kids.. Aged from 7-12 yrs old. Cute bunch.. till u really meet them.. me and debbie had to handle 8 kids..these age range is the most active, disobedient, curious etc.. theres this cute gal.. so pink~~ hoho very pretty.. another 1.. innocent big-eyed beauty-to-be.. hehe.. they got really rowdy, cant settle on the decision we need to. Whew.. but somehow.. it got settled..
Then we went back to SMU.. for the game.. had Macs for breakfast.. Its so cute to have so many kids.. keep calling me "stella jie jie(sister)" There is this lil boy.. haha keep sticking to me.. keep sayin wanna partner me cute.. then e rest of the kids say he is a pervert hoho..Kids.. Then we play games and all...
being like a parent.. asked them not to run about.. to take their water breaks..etc.. giving hugs to girl who played games and cried.. I wouldnt say that they are tt innocent though.. they really know about lots things.. not like they are naive n ignorant. I'm surprised too.. haha..
This kids actually come from broken singled parent families.. where they parents had to slog to provide for them.. meeting financial problems and all that. But besides all these, they are just normal wonderful kids. People just had to appreciate the family surroundings they are born into. Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in mouth. Everyone in this world should learn how to accept each other's differences, otherwise you wouldnt be allowing those parties to fit into our society. Dont take what you guys are having now for granted lo..
I'm not ashamed to say that i myself come from singled parent family, i have a good stepdad now though.. i am not "handicapped" in any way compared to other frens. I have my very own self-discipline to be able to be who i am today. My fren once told me " you dont LOOK like u come fren single-parent family" You mean kids whose parents are divorced have a type of look?
Thats stereotyping baby.. these kids also deserve to be viewed in da same way as other normal kids. However, in today's society.. the divorce taboo is no longer as strong as in da past. but yet.. some still raised an eyebrow at it. think just gotta give everyone a lil bit more time.
Was readin Mer's blog.. its so phenomenal to witness ur love one bringing another lil life into this world.. Mer is a double auntie over the holS~ hehe.. Seriously, i also need to buck up for the next Sem..my results really cant make it.. i shall study hard man... Pls~~ encourage me to study k? i wan a bright future..i wanna be somebody... but i might try for stewardess for a year or 2 first.. school is starting soon.. carpe diem.. enjoy wat u have now.. before we start working our asses off..
